Get the Big Picture on Building and Improving Your Digital Program with this Leadership Academy Workshop

January 6, 2016

As the world continues to migrate online, there’s no question that for your campaign or organization to thrive, you need to develop sophisticated, strategic online properties that help you cut through the clutter and communicate directly with your supporters. Whether you need your supporters to contact their legislator about an important piece of legislation, fuel the fight with a donation, get the word out about a compelling illustration of your cause, or volunteer their time in other ways, the easiest way to reach them is online. Figuring out how to do that, though, can be a challenge – but with the right tools and understanding of how digital can work hand-in-hand with other elements of your campaign or organization, you can move forward and maximize your impact.

At the National LGBTQ Task Force’s Creating Change Conference this month, we’re excited to host a Leadership Academy workshop to arm you with everything you need to integrate digital as efficiently as possible. This in-depth workshop, Channeling Digital Action to Win Campaigns, will be held Friday afternoon, January 22, 2016 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:15 p.m.

Through the Digital Action Center at Freedom for All Americans (and previously at Freedom to Marry), we’ve launched dozens of focused state campaigns from the ground up, designed to drive action and get results. We’ve helped to move legislation in divided statehouses, block bad bills, rally supporters for ballot campaigns, and ramp up support through public education. Through these experiences, we’ve learned some best practices for quickly and efficiently pulling together strong digital campaigns – and developing trust with supporters so that they’ll take action when we need them to most. We’re excited to share what we’ve learned from these state fights, as well as takeaways from the national campaigns to win marriage for same-sex couples and non-discrimination protections for LGBT Americans.

This Leadership Academy workshop is designed to provide a 1,000-foot view on digital – with deeper, interactive dives into your email program, social media strategy, fundraising, and rapid response. We’ll have hands-on breakout sessions, present case studies on successful actions, play a round of “Let Me Fix That For You,” and point you to some of the best tools and strategies for accelerating and perfecting your work.

Our movement has a lot of work ahead – but by putting our best digital face forward, we can make big strides forward in coming together, activating the country, and working toward immense change.
