Winter Party Festival announces new host hotel for 2013

October 18, 2012

Gearing up for the most spectacular event in its 20-year history, Winter Party Festival is planning extraordinary experiences and special surprises for the six-day event which runs March 6 – 11, 2013. Among the new developments for “The Hottest Winter in the World” is the exciting move to a new host hotel, Shelborne South Beach, a Menin Hotel property.

Russell Roybal, deputy executive director of the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, says the 180-room oceanfront resort features a host of amenities for Winter Party Festival guests to enjoy:

Shelborne South Beach offers our guests an ideal location in the heart of all the South Beach action and in the middle of Winter Party Festival events. The rooms have dramatic views of the ocean or of the magnetic Art Deco skyline, the pool deck is absolutely amazing and its meeting space will allow us to expand the Welcome Center. As our new host hotel, Shelborne South Beach will also offer our guests a variety of accommodation options.

The Shelborne South Beach

From now through November 15, Shelborne South Beach is offering special rates for guests who want to secure their spot at the host hotel early. Winter Party attendees can choose from standard rooms, which start at $219 per night; recently remodeled premiere rooms, which start at $269 per night; two-bedroom, poolside townhouses starting at $499 per night; or for the ultimate experience, the über-luxurious 2,500-square-foot penthouse at $3,000 per night.

“We are pleased to welcome the Task Force and Winter Party guests to our beachfront playground,” said Keith Menin, principal of Menin Hotels. “We look forward to celebrating Winter Party’s 20th Edition with people from all over the world.”

As one of Miami’s most celebrated beachfront resorts, Shelborne South Beach features unparalleled views of the Atlantic Ocean in a modern, relaxed setting. The 1940s Art Deco gem offers shopping at GuyandGirl Boutique, as well as a variety of dining and entertainment options.

Pool side cabana

In addition to becoming the new host hotel, Shelborne South Beach will also host the legendary Under One Sun Pool Party on Saturday, March 9. Ten groups of lucky pool party-goers will be able to enjoy all the fun next to the infinity-edge pool from their luxury cabana, complete with 32-inch flat-screen TV, Wi-Fi for posting “Under One Sun” party pics to Facebook, private bath with shower, and individual a/c unit.

From the world renowned Beach Party to a shopping night along famed Lincoln Road Mall, to events exclusively for women, the 20th Edition Winter Party Festival will feature nearly two dozen of the most amazing events on the planet. Produced by the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, Winter Party Festival raises funds to build power, take action and create change for the LGBT community. The majority of the net proceeds generated from Winter Party Festival go to work in South Florida through grants administered by The Miami Foundation, while the remainder supports the Task Force’s efforts nationally. Since assuming responsibility for the events in 2004, the Task Force has provided nearly $1.4 million from the proceeds of Winter Party Festival and the annual Miami Recognition Dinner to LGBT organizations in South Florida.
