Blogging transgender equality and transgender etiquette

June 8, 2012

This morning at Netroots Nation we’ll be live tweeting from the panel Blogging for Transgender Equality: History, Challenges and Progress. The panel has a great line-up, including moderator Jillian Weiss and panelists Jennifer Levi, Monica Roberts, Autumn Sandeen and Jos Truitt. If you’re following the conference from home, you can learn more and watch the panel live at 10 a.m. Eastern here.

In addition to this historic panel for Netroots Nation, the conference has included an explanation of transgender etiquette in the program book and has designated some restrooms as gender neutral. Conference organizers reached out to Task Force staff member Sue Hyde, director of our National Conference on LGBT Equality: Creating Change, when working to develop the transgender etiquette for the program book and for information about implementing gender-neutral restrooms at a large national conference. We applaud Netroots Nation for taking these important steps.

Is there any way we can see the etiquette that was put into the book? It would be beneficial for so many.
