Less than 24 hours to pass marriage equality in Illinois!

May 30, 2013

CallTheVote_FinalThe future of marriage equality in Illinois comes down to the next 24 hours. If Illinois is going to be the 13th state to secure marriage for all loving couples, the House has to pass the marriage bill by the end of the day tomorrow. Tomorrow!

If there’s no vote by tomorrow, we won’t win marriage this year. It’s that simple. There’s only one day left to ensure that all committed couples in Illinois are protected. There’s one day left to ensure that Illinois is a state that values all families.

Please call Speaker Michael Madigan now and urge him to schedule a vote on the marriage bill before the end of session tomorrow: DIAL: 217-782-5350

Say: “Hi, my name is _______________ and I live in ________________. I urge the Speaker to stand with the majority of Illinoisans who support the freedom to marry and schedule a vote on the marriage bill before the end of the legislative session tomorrow.”

The momentum to win marriage is on our side. The majority of Illinoisans support the freedom to marry. Faith leaders and business executives across the state know that passing this bill is the right thing to do. But all the momentum you’ve created — the tens of thousands of phone calls and emails to lawmakers, the hundreds of hours of volunteer work — will mean little if there’s no vote scheduled on the House floor by tomorrow.

In the next 24 hours, we have to make it crystal clear to Speaker Madigan and members of the House that Illinois is ready for the freedom to marry — and that supporters like you won’t back down until this bill is signed into law.

Pick up the phone now and tell Speaker Madigan that it’s time to schedule a vote on the marriage bill – DIAL: 217-782-5350

SAY: “Hi, my name is _______________ and I live in ________________. I urge the Speaker to stand with the majority of Illinoisans who support the freedom to marry and schedule a vote on the marriage bill before the end of the legislative session tomorrow.”

In the final hours of this campaign, the Task Force knows supporters like you are committed to doing everything you can to bring home a historic victory for thousands of Illinois families tomorrow.
