National & local leaders join in creating honor for pro-LGBT allies in name of late Cincinnatian Nancy Minson

May 16, 2011

National and local leaders are joining together tonight to help create an honor for pro-LGBT allies in the name of late Cincinnatian Nancy Minson. For more than a decade, Nancy fostered the building of a citywide coalition to undo Issue 3 (Article XII), which culminated in voter repeal in 2004 of the nation’s only anti-LGBT charter amendment. Minson passed away in 2009. The national recognition in her name is the first directly aimed at honoring a non-LGBT ally of equality who helps secure a major advance for equal rights.
