No taxation with discrimination rallies

Every year on Tax Day, legally married same-sex couples are denied the benefits of jointly filing taxes because of the hateful Defense of Marriage Act. This year actions across the country will call attention to the tax inequities facing same-sex couples as a result of the state and federal laws that refuse to recognize or extend civil marriage protections to same-sex couples. The actions highlight the ongoing moral and financial costs of denying marriage equality to same-sex couples — as well as the consequences paid by all Americans as a result of these discriminatory state and federal laws.

The Task Force will join GetEQUAL DC at the Washington, D.C. rally in solidarity with actions around the country to tell Speaker Boehner and the House of Representatives: No Taxation with discrimination! End DOMA now! With the Respect for Marriage Act introduced in both the House and Senate, now is the time to take action.
