Tell federal lawmakers to pass the DREAM Act!

September 20, 2010

The Task Force, a longtime advocate for fair and humane comprehensive immigration reform, joins with others in calling for passage of the Development, Relief and Education of Alien Minors Act (DREAM Act).

The DREAM Act would allow undocumented students, including countless LGBT youth, to be eligible for a path to citizenship provided they obtain a college degree or complete two years of military service. Read more about the DREAM Act.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) has said he would schedule a vote on the bill as an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act this week, which also includes a measure to repeal “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.” Opponents in the Senate are threatening a filibuster to stop the measures from moving forward.

Please contact your federal legislators and tell them to make the DREAM Act a reality!
