Chatting with the Washington Post about Argentina’s marriage equality vote

July 16, 2010

The celebration continues over Argentina’s passage of a marriage equality law this week. The Task Force’s Dan Hawes talked with the Washington Post about this historic victory for equality, saying:

The victory in Argentina shows those of us in the U.S. who are working for the freedom to marry that with persistence, engaging the public, in making the case why same-sex couples need and deserve the right to marry, that we can continue to advance the freedom to marry.

You can read today’s entire Washington Post story here.

In an earlier article, Dan talked about how inspirational a win would be.

I think people will look to it as very important. Every win we have gives momentum and hope to people everywhere, including activists in the United States working for the right to marry.

Congrats again to Argentina!
