What We’re Reading
June 22, 2010
While lots of folks have been glued to the World Cup for the last few weeks, other news — even other sports news — exists.
- For the first time, the Stanley Cup will appear in a Pride parade. The Chicago Blackhawks, this year’s NHL champions, will be appearing in their hometown Pride parade on June 27. They’re even flying the Cup home to Chicago a day early from the NHL draft to make it to the parade.
- Perhaps peer pressure isn’t always a bad thing. In addition to the Blackhawks, the Chicago Cubs are also planning to march in Chicago Pride for the first time.
The Task Force will also be at Chicago Pride. If you want to volunteer or join us for the parade, e-mail Andrew Machado at amachado@thetaskforce.org.
